Roanoke Outside Foundation

At Avalanche Consulting, I wrote a strategy for the Roanoke Outside Foundation focused on preserving the region’s natural areas and increasing investment in outdoor infrastructure. Utilizing research, local community input and national studies and trends, I crafted advocacy narratives that highlighted the urgent need for outdoor infrastructure investment in the region.

I also developed a report outlining specific goals, strategies, tactics and best practices related to outdoor infrastructure investment, community engagement, marketing, economic development, funding, capacity building and organizational structure.

As a result, the Roanoke Outside Foundation changed the community narrative to embrace, showcase and activate its many outdoor assets. The organization successfully advocated for increased public and private outdoor infrastructure investments, secured key partners and reached funding goals.
